The entire fleet of mechanically identical Formula Palmer Audi cars is maintained to the highest standards in our spacious workshop at Bedford Autodrome by our team of experienced mechanics. Our cars are unique to us and have been developed over the years to create the spectacular single-seater racing car that we have before us today. We now have a 300bhp car that is exceptionally reliable and is astonishing to drive, a true racing driver's car. Even more important than performance is driver safety and every effort is made to ensure that the FPA cars are extremely robust and safe.

Pioneered by FPA is the sensational overboost, a steering wheel mounted button signals the engine to deliver a six second burst of 360bhp which can be used eight times in each race. This idea has now found its way into a number of other championships, namely Champ Cars and the A1 Grand Prix.

Each car is run by a dedicated mechanic and is prepared to identical standards to ensure every driver has an equal opportunity to make an impression out on the track. Rest assured every car, including the driver, is ballasted to weigh the same so even heavier drivers (up to 90kgs) are not disadvantaged. The cars are equipped with a Stack data logging system that generates a print out including car speed, engine revs, throttle position, gear selection, turbo boost pressure and G force. After every test, qualifying and race you will get an overlay of your data with the fastest times from the session, enabling you to rapidly improve. All of which is administered from a dedicated mobile office in one of the FPA trucks.

The whole operation is transported to each event in an immaculate fleet of FPA transporters and makes for a spectacular show in its own right. We set up the FPA village in the race paddock which features a stand alone Hospitality awning which holds 300 guests, and is always full. With years of experience we are the most professional and slick outfit in the paddock and pride ourselves on being geared to entertain both corporate and family guests. Everyone leaves an FPA event with a smile!
